Block 1 Theory | Foundations of Dog Grooming

Block 1 is all about understanding dogs before you ever pick up a tool. You’ll explore canine culture, basic care, life stages, instincts, and behaviour, building essential knowledge for anyone entering the grooming industry. The course also covers first aid, introduces core grooming tools and concepts, and outlines key WHS requirements. An overview of bathing, drying, and shampoo ingredients rounds out this foundation.

Block 2 Theory | Groomers Assistant

In Block 2, you’ll deepen your understanding of grooming tools, how they’re used across different coat types, and how to care for them properly. You’ll explore shampoos, bathing, and drying techniques, supported by 12 coat-specific bathing and drying tutorials. This block is designed to follow Block 1 and is ideal for bathers and groomers assistants building practical, day-to-day knowledge.

Block 3 Theory | Pet Stylist

Block 3, Pet Stylist, brings everything together into a complete guide to grooming. It covers workplace health and safety, grooming room setup, ergonomics for large dogs, and first aid principles. You’ll also learn bathing, drying, and basic clipping techniques, alongside in-depth theory and tutorials for full grooms on common breeds and mixed breeds. Special care cases, including matted dogs, puppies, and seniors, are also covered.
